Petition Opposing Clemency for 5 Convicted Louisiana Murderers

Signing this petition will convey your deep concern and opposition regarding the potential clemency for 5 convicted murderers currently serving their sentences. As a concerned citizen I firmly believe that granting clemency to these individuals would undermine justice, disregard the rights of victims and their families, and set a dangerous precedent for our society.

First and foremost it is critical to remember that these individuals were convicted of heinous crimes that resulted in the loss of innocent lives. These criminals must face the appropriate consequences for all the immense pain and suffering that the families, loved ones, and communities have had to endure. Granting clemency to these individuals would not only undermine the judicial system but also disregard the rights of the victims and their families, who have endured immeasurable grief and loss. The criminal justice system exists not only to protect the innocent and punish the guilty, it also can deter potential offenders. By granting clemency to these convicted murderers, the judicial system would be sending a dangerous message that the severity of their crimes can be overlooked and or diminished. This would not only undermine the trust and faith in our judicial system but also potentially endanger more innocent lives.

Furthermore, such a message would convey to the victims families that their loved ones’ lives are not valued. The gravity that we all choose to oppose these clemencies are immense. I, respectfully, request that you sign the petition in opposition of any efforts that grant clemency to these 5 individuals in order to preserve that justice is served.

Thank you for your attention to this most important matter.

Sincerely,
