The school finally confirmed that the upgrades to our ventilation system are authorized for immediate installation. My head is spinning after all these months of heat and struggle but we actually crossed the finish line. I will keep an eye on the contractors to ensure they follow through on this …

Those who live on the North and South side of The Thurgood Marshall Living Learning Center know how humid and hot it can become in the building. Why is this? Ventilation can be a step in the right direction. LLC is outfitted for AC, we know this because this building is connected to the cafeteria and also Guest Quarters, which both have air conditioning. Why is it that some students don't have to suffer but other students do, especially when the climate begins to rise above tolerable? It is unhealthy to have to suffer in our own rooms trying to do work, studying in your room just isn't an option in adherent climate changes. People are also getting sick left and right, making a hazardous environment. Are we not also students paying our way through this school? Why do we not have the same care that the cafeteria and the guest quarters have? This petition is made to get rid of those questions and bring change to the building. It is unfair for the North and South side to not have any ventilation during the spring and the summer. We of the LLC N. Hall Council plan to send this petition to the SGA, and soon the president of the school to bring attention to this pressing issue. Living in LLC should be an enjoyable experience for us college students, sadly the issues in this building take away from that. We know the school has the money, 21,000 from students a year can adequately supply the funding for this change. With YOUR help we can change this and make this a better dormitory for not only us now, but those who attend Lincoln in the future. Even the freshman now, you all cannot live in the freshman dorms forever. There is also a very slim chance of getting into Rendall because of the requirements and size of the dorm. Other than ASL, the Guest Quarters Lucy Laney, and McCauley (which are only for women.) Freshmen have no where left to go. More than likely since there are so many freshman they will end up living in LLC. Please send this petition to anyone and everyone you may know who cares about Lincoln. Our goal is one thousand signatures by December 1st. Give us the honor of aiding us in our quest to make LLC a true Living Learning Center.

The momentum behind this building issue has grown significantly and it proves that my frustration is shared by so many of you. It is exhausting to keep pushing for basic living conditions but this backing reminds me why we started.

Students pay far too much money for on campus housing that is uncomfortable and unlivable for most.

It's inhumane to have students work in those conditions. As students they already have enough to worry about ; these issues shouldn't be one.

Students should not be required to live under these hazardous conditions that this campus provides! Too many buildings on this campus don't have AC and it's utterly ridiculous when students pay tuition every semester.

Hello, this is true. This is not fair to all that leave in LLC. This problem affect alot of other issues that include the elvator breaking down. More health issues then LLC can handel.

This is very necessary we pay too much money as students at this University to suffer the way we do with the heat problem in our residence halls. There are days my dorm is so hot I cannot even sleep in there and that isn’t just an inconvenience it’s unjust
