why are drug and drink drivers allowed to get away with light sentences , if some one did this damage any other way they would be locked up for many years

This smack-head deserves nothing less than 10 years behind bars, and/or should be made to work under 24/7 supervision to pay compensation for her innocent victim's injuries. By her downright selfish stupidity, she has lost the right to stay a free person, and deserves any and all punishment she gets.
