The justice system did not do Josh Justice whatsoever . He had life planned out for him but now that's been takeaway he worked so hard in school to get to college to do his dream job now that is all been took away from him because of somebody who was running from drugs. It seems to me that the court had more sympathy for Julie than they did for Josh . I really hope fingers crossed that he gets the Justice he deserves.

what message does a light sentence like this send out? If this woman needs help to clean up then help her and those like her, but they have to be responsible for the damage they do to society or what's the point?

Whatever you do in life often there is consequences - these cosnequences have impacted on both sides but one side has seemingly been let down by not addressing the fact that his life and his immediate family have been impacted to a massive extent - whilst any mother would not want to be separated from her children the woman in question did the crime and deserves a fitting punishment which teaches her actions have not just affected one family but others and she should realise if she loses her contact with her family for a time - she will appreciate them even more and will be stronger for not doing what she has done and will wish to never ever do this or anything similar again or even contemplate it . The potential for a worse scenario was always there - she needs the time to reflect on her actions without her family to teach her this - after all she was not thinking of her families needs when she did what she did since if she did she would never have got into a car and driven - being conscious of your choices is in the here and now and not after the fact. Both sides of this have to deal with the consequences which will last a significant time - maybe for the rest of their lives but if she learns from a harsher sentence then maybe she will not just help herself but her family and friends by moving away from the drugs culture she has relied upon - I hope Josh recovers knowing that not just his family love and support him but friends and strangers sympathise with his plight - maybe the woman in question could see how the family feel and think how would i feel in their shoes - surely taking this onboard she would then seek appropriate help for her own problems and fulfill her moral obligation to josh since he is the one suffering on multiple levels through no fault of his own.

The way this poor lad has been treated by the justice system is so wrong !! . The driver should have received a harsher sentence.

As a member of the local community I feel that the sentence Julie Wilson has received for this appalling crime is far too lenient and justice has not been served. In the public interest - and to restore public confidence in the justice system which I and many others feel has been damaged by the outcome of this case. I believe there needs to be a review of the sentence given, which fully takes into account the impact on Josh and his family, physically, mentally and financially, and is reflective of the seriousness of the offences committed. I wish Josh and his family all the very best.
Hope you get justice xx
