Justice has to be done here, if this was anyone else other than a heroin addicted menace they would be looking at an attempted manslaughter charge...Penzance has had enough of this creatures behaviour now, it's certainly not the first time she's been arrested and let off lightly.

It is only luck that prevented this being manslaughter - we can't reward luck. I understand that the children need to be protected, I understand the difficulty, but this sentence was far too lenient.

Absolutely disgusting that this woman can ruin this lad's life and get away with it. There needs to be tougher prison sentences as literally she could of killed him. To let her off without any prison sentence is hardly going to stop her from taking drugs and driving again is it.....

If this was a drink drive case the perpetrator would not have got away with it. This sentence is a joke and does nothing to serve as a lesson for people who drug drive.

I read recently the facts surrounding this case and was horrified at the leniency of the sentence that the judge handed out. I was also shocked that the judge fell for her excuses. Many locals have commented that they know her and her family and that her excuses in court were complete lies. Josh Ladd needs justice and this case needs to be reheard under a different judge

this is a truly shocking verdict, imagine if she was drunk running away from a pub fight, would she avoid jail then?
I also question why her children are not in care as is the case for most active addicts...does she get a free pass because her mother is top brass at the social services? she seems to get away with murder
