For this type of crime, there should only be prison. Otherwise where is the deterrent? People make choices and must live with the consequences. Josh has to and he wasn't offered a choice.

I am signing this petition as it is disgraceful that this women received such a soft sentence. Not only should she be in prison but her children should not be in her care. Get well soon Josh

I'm so shocked by the judges verdict. I know she has children but she is incapable of looking after them sufficiently. I know this woman locally and she is a constant trouble maker. She is involved with dangerous people and her children seem deeply unhappy. I think given the impact of the injuries and the on going effects physically and mentally on Mr Ladd and his family the verdict should be reconsidered and compensation paid to Mr Ladd for the extreme trauma he has had to endure. I sincerely hope social services are consistent in their care for the children.
Out town just had a huge event that the whole community came out for 'Pirates on the Prom'. I didn't see Mr Ladd in attendance and doubt very much he was able to. However this woman was there drinking and dancing and enjoying her day. Not a sign of her children at this family event by the way. This is wholly unfair and unjust.
Mr Ladd deserves to feel like our justice system is supporting him and will continue to do so. Sadly at this time that is not the case. It is not just disappointing as a member of the public but it very much undermined the work done by the police, social services and many other support agencies and units. Having some experiance working with drug users I understand the intentions of the decision made by the court however in this instance it is misplaced in my view. The implications of that decision for the community and on Mr Ladd and his family are hugely underestimated. I hope this petition goes some way towards rectifying this wrong.

Tragic. This young lad's life has been ruined by somebody who should not be allowed to drive a car.

Justice was definitely not served, it's an outrage! Just shows if you take class a drugs you can practically get away with murder.
Justice!
