Agree!!! There should be more police officers patrolling outside of their vehicles instead of just sitting inside their vehicles texting or on facebook!
Make bridges for these students to cross over!

It's sad to hear that schools are not providing the safety their students need, lets make a difference. May Jose rest in peace and my condolences to all his friends and family.

What school district is this? How can anyone of any age learn new information at 6:50 a.m.? Sounds like this school district is both wasting money and putting children at great risk.

As parent of a current senior, this news is especially heartbreaking. Early high school start times are associated with increased accidents, among other adverse effects. Please change the start time before another preventable accident takes another child's life.

So sorry for the loss. I was hit by a car as a pedestrian; I know how quickly an accident can happen and lives change forever in an instant.

What a senseless tragedy...the school system could have prevented this by at least starting school later...no traffic control, stiff penalties for tardiness....they are setting the kids up to be in danger!!
