I never thought such a tragedy could happen in my home nation, Kenya, but the events of last week have left me aghast. The story below is the one of my father's home, my childhood home, the home in which I shared so many memories with my friends and family. I ask you to please stand with our family as we seek justice.

The lives of various long-time Nairobi residences have been recently marred with upheaval, destruction, and turmoil after hostile events leading to the occupation of our home.

Our home in Nairobi has been owned and occupied by my father since 1979. He was an accountant who made a diverse range of contributions to Kenyan society through his entrepreneurial ventures, spiritual associations, and optimistic outlook. His immense work has positively impacted the lives of many Kenyans, and his passing earlier this year was mourned by his many connections worldwide.

As our family continues to grieve with the tremendous loss, a group of individuals has made our lives even harder than it should be. Part of the family returned to the home in Kenya in late June to work on finalizing uses of our property. Our family wished to use funds from the home to help poverty-stricken youth as my father would've wished. Tragically, the fulfillment of these wishes was jeopardized during this week.

On Tuesday July 26, with only a young granddaughter home, the property in Nairobi was targeted by a group of men claiming to have the right to empty the property. The young granddaughter pleaded with the men, but was forcefully thrown away from her property and the men proceeded to aggressively empty the entire house. All the belongings of the home were tossed onto the street in Nairobi, including the divine valuables held in the family prayer room.

After emptying the home, the men locked up the property, leaving us as a disheartened family perplexed as to how we will fulfill my father's wishes. To make matters worse, on Sunday July 31, the home was attacked once again. This time, the structure of the actual building was disfigured, with entire walls annihilated.

As a family that once was just struggling coping with the loss of my father, we now face an unforeseen misfortune of a lifetime. As the damages continue to tear apart the hearts of men and women, young and old, local and foreign, the family asks for your cooperation in seeking to resolve the issue and successfully honour my father's philanthropic wishes.

If action isn't taken soon, the house will continue to face attacks and the family will remain endangered. We ask for your support for the safety of all.
