Yesterday on Twitter, in amongst a torrent of expletives and rhetoric, a prominent blue-nosed apologist @PhantomL5 claimed that anyone with what he described as “SFM/Philco” views would “happily see every club die as long as Rangers did too”. He also accused those of us who want to see their titles stripped as being “bigots” and of “driving hatred” towards his (for want of better word ) club. Setting aside my objections to his God Complex-level arrogance in sharing his distorted take on our views to the BBC’s Tom English, I’d like to take this opportunity to explain my views on this in more detail, and respond to his slanderous accusation of bigotry. Firstly, let me mention that, not only do I have family members who have been season ticket holders at Ibrox, but my own mother actually worked at Rangers FC (1872) for many decades. I therefore strongly object to being called a bigot, simply because I take an opposing view. Not that I’m totally without bias – few of us are. I also openly admit that my views may also have swayed by personal experience of bigotry, starting as far back as my first Old Firm Cup final when - at age 7 – after my daft uncle was stupid enough to arrive at Hampden via the Rangers end, I walked the gauntlet of a torrent of streaming spit and sickening abuse from literary hundreds, perhaps even thousands - of The Peepul. My mother – god rest her soul – who in the >25 years she worked at Rangers never dared let it be known she was a Catholic - sometimes broke down in tears when she came home and told us about the bigotry she ‘d witnessed, even at boardroom level. So, in my experience, bigotry amongst Rangers fans is not confined to a small majority, or even only a few un-educated sorts, but is almost endemic across the entire fan base. I therefore don’t take kindly to being lectured on bigotry by someone who doesn’t know me, nor understand my views, and who’s penchant for hate-fueled name-calling and personal insult strongly suggests a

I paid a lot of money to follow what was effectively a fixed sport - either the titles are stripped or we get our cash back. Maybe a fans "group action" against the league if they are not willing to remove the ill gained titles.
