Favour was an 11year old girl that was gang raped to death in her neighbourhood in Ejigbo,Lagos State in broad day light, while on an errand for her mother. This incident underscores the abject lack of respect for the lives of women and young girls in our communities today. By carrying out this act, the perpetrators are in effect saying that female lives don’t matter.
But we at WRAHP do not support that view. We believe that all lives, especially the lives of women and young girls matter. So we need justice to be done and be seen to be done in this matter. This will make a powerful statement for the right to life and protection of women and girls in our communities as well provide deterrence to other would be perpetrators violence against women and girls, now and for future generations.
