As breeders/owners in dog sport community, it is imperative that we as the protectors of the purebred dog . . . actually PROTECT our dogs and our sport. For every case like this, the public and animal rights groups are given further ammunition against the life we live with our dogs and the careful breeding and competition practices we employ to give our dogs the best life possible. PLEASE remove Nickie Hertzog's privileges within the AKC competition and breeding communities.

Yeah, I'd be in jail but Nickie Hertzog would be sporting a hole. This dog is either dead or sold. Only explanation that makes any kind of sense--not that any of it makes any kind of sense.

Diva was held illegally for over 700 days. The dog's owner did not know for sure that her dog was even alive. The dog was bred without the owner's permission and puppies were probably sold. Nikki Herzog needs to be reprimanded to the largest extent by the AKC for her fraudulent and criminal activities.

Very sad when AKC stands up for thieves and tosses ethics away. Hertzog needs to be tossed and ethics upheld. Fortunately there are many venues for agility and I can play without sending AKC any money until ethics matter.

As a newer breeder and exhibitor I find this appalling and it makes me fearful of using anything but a ringside handling service. I am a member of the Hanover kennel club, GRCA, and Tarheel GRC and I would like to think that all of the organizations enforce the rules of ethical breeding and good sportsmanship, otherwise, what is the point of any of it. This situation seems like a clear violation of every rule and has already been decided in the court system. For AKC or the GRCA to ignore it would seem like condoning it.
