Justice for David Bailey
Thirty-five year old David Bailey was gunned down outside a nightclub in Princeton, West Virginia on Dec 8th, 2013. His killer was an employee of the nightclub and admitted to police that he knew David was unarmed at the time of the shooting. He also admitted that he left the nightclub, went to his car to retrieve the firearm and returned to the club. David was shot a total of five times as the killer emptied his revolver, three times in the chest and as David turned to run away, two more shots were fired into his back. He was arraigned on a first degree murder charge with a possible penalty of life in prison and yet the judge set a of bond of $50,000.00 allowing the shooter to be released by paying only $5000.00. He was ordered to home confinement with privileges to continue working, simply because the man had no prior record.
David Bailey leaves behind a seven year old son Austin who is heartbroken and lost without his father, They meant the world to each other. David also coached and refereed many youth league football, basketball and baseball teams throughout Bluefield, Virginia. David was seen as a mentor to many of the children he coached, he had an infectious smile and was a friend to everyone he met. David also leaves behind his mother, Dawn Ann and three sisters, Jinger, Natalie and Leslie, as well as many special family and friends.
