As a(n)Alumnus of Gates Chili High school, this saddens me. Terry Nowden is a great basketball coach.He deserves another opportunity to coach for his alma mater. by punishing him and the team for doing something so innocent, he funded a trip for his entire team with his own money. How is that a fireable offense and what laws did he break? with this decision you're hurting the entire program. I pray that you reconsider and bring coach Nowden back and his entire staff. This is clearly a misunderstanding.

This is unjust and uncalled for. What goes on off season outside of school should not be a concern for the school and it should not be their decision to fire the staff over something like this. If the coaches were white it would have been a different story.

This is a man who stands to encourage, motivate, and lead our future young men of excellence. This man should not have been exposed and thrown under the bus in this way. This district has shown unethical practices and should not get away with this!!!!

Words can not express the effect of coach Terry’s presence at Gates Chili High School. I’ve attended many games. I’ve been a witness of the passion, hard work, determination, and leadership of coach Terry and how the energy transferred to the players on and off the court. I’ve watched comeback wins, and losses and all games ended with Gates Chili and coach Terry demanding respect amongst the greats of high school basketball. Firing this staff would be in my eyes showing that not only do you not care about bringing back gates chili’s winning ways, but you don’t care about the lessons being taught to young men beyond the court. Bring them back.

He shouldn’t be fired give that man his job back
