This coward does not deserve such a light sentence. He evaded the police and tampered with evidence. He chose not to come forward. He was under the influence. He does not deserve such a light sentence. It is a slap in the face to his family.

This was a crime. There is was a loss of life here. This criminal may be a young man, but he took the life of a wonderful man who had children. Chris won't have that opportunity to watch his children grow. The criminal's parents still have him. There should be a bigger punishment. He knew he was wrong, or he wouldn't have run. No punishment will bring Chris back, but please do not dishonor this man's memory by giving such a lenient sentence. Justice for Chris.

Chris was an amazing friend and father, I had the pleasure of living next door to him and our kids were great friends. I also have the pain of never forgetting the events of that night and as someone who was there, justice must be served what is happening makes me sick to think our justice system allows those events to take place and barely a slap on the wrist is the punishment.

It angers me that this boy will only serve a year. Yes, he's young and a student, but it took 6 months after the accident to get him. If it was sincerely an accident and he stayed at the scene or turned himself in the days that followed, we would not be so outraged! He went on to live his life and left a family, who suffered a tragic loss, suffer even more. He needs to be held responsible.

I am so sorry for your loss. I pray for justice...and I pray hard as I am a victim of the system. The judicial system let me down and protected the criminal because he had a bad heart when he repeatedly pulled the trigger of his gun hitting me in the back as I ran for my life. The only thing that saved my life was I ran in a sweep...to confuse his aim. Guess his bad heart made him a bad shot? The system is corrupt, unfair and let's victims down every single day. I will hope and pray that you and your family will find peace in the days to come. Don't grieve time lost....celebrate the fact that it happened at all. Hard to do...but you and your family were blessed with the time that Chris gave you.

The killer needs to serve serious time. The fact he hid the jeep tried to do repairs and didn't turn himself in cause he "was so busy with school" is total crap. He's a coward!!!
