Once again humans step in and do the wrong thing. How can there ever be any trust in working with wildlife services on either state or federal levels. damn shame

This is totally abhorrent, not only to kill animal by those who seek to protect them, but a rare wolf. FWC disregarded all advice from welfare agencies and acted irresponsibly and without care for the long term survival of this rare wolf.

Seacrest and the public have a right to know why this wolf was shot near an EMPTY school where it was apparently safe to discharge a firearm. A gun is much more dangerous than a TAME, SOCIALIZED wolf. If it was okay to discharge the firearm to murder this animal because the school was empty, then it should have been okay to allow a people friendly wolf to stay around there long enough to get his handler and get him home. If they're saying they were worried for the safety of the children, honestly the safest option for everyone is the non lethal tranquilizers as opposed to the obviously deadly bullet. Honestly, I fear for those children too. I fear for them learning from this horrid example to be ignorant and destructive of beautiful things that they don't understand. I fear for the lack of education available to them if this tragedy goes unexplained making massacre of these educational creatures much more likely in the future. I also fear for those children and their children and their children after, if these wolves are not preserved, not only that they will never see them, but that ecosystems will crumble further, degrading our world and our future. Wolves are vital to certain ecosystems as predators and population control. My girls visited Seacrest with their Scout Troop and LOVED it. They were not the least bit afraid and learned so much. The excited way that they talked about it made me want to visit myself and sometime soon we will be bringing the whole family to meet the Seacrest family. Please FWC, if a six year old tiny little girl is not afraid of the Seacrest wolves, then why was a grown man with wilderness training so terrified that he felt the necessity to kill?

This was a planned crime with the acknowledgement of the officers´ supeiors... These people must be taken on to Justice and pay for what they have done and tell why they did kill Chaco..
The official at USFWS should be dismissed. This decision was rash, stupid and destructive. There was no need to kill this animal. Its really terrible policy to shoot first. I am disgusted

It sounds like FWS is spinning lies to justify this senseless killing. Why couldn't they have let this animal live? What was the point of killing him? They killed an endangered species. They committed a crime. There should be an investigation.

The officer(s) who shot this wolf should be fired immediately, stripped of any benefits they would have received and a criminal investigation should be started immediately.
