Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a Somali born women's rights activist, was invited to address Brandeis University students as guest speaker @ their May 18 Commencement address.
Due to unconfirmed allegations of her 'anti-Islam' speeches - which Ayaan says have been misquoted and taken out of context, protests were made and a petition raised, to stop her speaking at the Address.
Brandeis University have, as a result, withdrawn the invitation on the grounds of her statements being against their core values; and the 'spirit of free expression' that Brandeis holds dear.
I believe this to be an appalling insult to Ayaan; and a deliberate attempt to stifle the voice of an exceptional woman, and women's rights advocate.
Please / join with me in seeking justice for Ayaan, by signing this petition:
"We believe Brandeis University should allow Ayaan Hirsi Ali to make the Commencement address to students on May 18, 2014, in the interests of justice, and of the freedom of expression it claims to hold so dear".
