I am writing on behalf of many JEE aspirants and parents to humbly request your kind consideration regarding the number of attempts allowed for JEE Advanced.
At present:
JEE Main permits 3 attempts (3 consecutive years).
JEE Advanced permits only 2 attempts (2 consecutive years).
This creates an imbalance where the gateway exam to NITs/IIITs offers more chances than the gateway exam to IITs, despite IITs being the ultimate goal for many.
We respectfully submit that:
1. Parity and Balance – It is only logical that both JEE Main and JEE Advanced allow 3 attempts, maintaining symmetry in the national selection process.
2. No Dilution of Standards – IITs will remain elite because the exam itself is highly competitive and seats are limited. Allowing a 3rd attempt only increases fairness, not dilution.
3. Increased Competition, Better Prepared Students – A 3rd attempt would bring more well-prepared students, raising the quality of intake.
4. Equity and Relief – Many students lose one attempt due to health issues, family circumstances, or unforeseen exam-day challenges. A 3rd attempt offers a fair safety net without lowering standards.
5. Consistency with Other Exams – NEET allows unlimited attempts till age limit, UPSC allows 6 attempts. Restricting IIT aspirants to just 2 appears disproportionately harsh.
Proposed Solution:
Allow 3 attempts for JEE Advanced (3 consecutive years) in alignment with JEE Main.
This ensures fairness, reduces stress, and strengthens IITs’ intake without compromising on excellence.
We believe this balanced reform will be a win win for students and institutions, ensuring justice while preserving IITs’ elite status.
With utmost respect,
Naitik Sharma

We are requesting a 3rd attempt because the current rules only allow a second drop for NITs (via JEE Mains), not for IITs. This creates an unfair situation for students who genuinely wish to improve after their second attempt. Every student should have equal opportunity to compete for the best institutes based on merit and effort, not limited by arbitrary restrictions. Denying a 3rd attempt punishes dedication and hard work, while allowing it ensures fairness and motivation for all aspirants.

Please allow second droppers to be eligible for JEE advance because there are 3 attempt in mains, even Exams like gate and upsc allow student more than 2 drop
And please remove 75 percentage criteria because it is of no use and it gives extra burden to students

Dear Sir
I am a JEE Aspirant, and as I belong from rural area of Chattisgarh ,I got to know about JEE after my class 12th . Therefore, I got less time to prepare for the exam . And not only me but there are many people who get to know about this later due to lack of awareness. So I humbly request you to give one more chance to students like us to sit For JEE ADVANCED EXAMINATIONwhich is #3rdattempt. Sir there are unlimited attempts in NEET , 6 attempt in UPSC than why not at least 3 IN JEE ADVANCED as it is the toughest among all . Your one change can make many of our's future better.

As a parent I see that JEE advanced 3rd attempt should be given because all the exam of ug level in our country whether that is IAT,ISI,CMI,NEET,NDA,CUET,JEE MAINS all give minimum 3 attempts so I think advanced should give 3 attempts
