This is so sickning to shoot a happy dog that did nothing on his own property that had turned to go back and was shot in the back as he walked back to his front door.

I find the injustice of this sickening. If the dog was running away why shoot it? I think the officers responsible should be held accountable for their actions, as any civilian would and should be.

Why doesn't the video accounts show a vicious dog? And why when first asked you stated the dog was shot first with a silent bullet evidently to make it turn around? Shame on one cop ruining the entire RPD name.

Using a firearm, that is, shooting to hit a person or animal, should be a last resort and only to prevent bodily harm to oneself or others. A dog running AWAY from police, is NOT presenting a threat of bodily harm. Shooting her was WRONG!
