cops are just getting to trigger happy, they need to be trained to handle situations that involve animals, instead of just pointing a gun and shooting it, this makes me so mad to many innocent animals have died due to trigger happy cops!!

This is an outrage. I understand the use of force necessary for an armed person, but shooting an inncoent dog wandering arounf a yard is irresponsible and cruel.

The discharge of a firearm should not be taken lightly in any situation, and if an officer is found to be at fault in these situations, he/she should be immediately and appropriately held to justice, including termination and possible criminal charges.

This is not only appalling but totally insane!! I have been on law enforcement boards and I would never condone this kind of action. Whoever deployed this tactical team should be fired. I think a serious house cleaning is needed. This needs to be looked into.

The police knew when they went into the call there was a dog involved ~ i have seen police work with animal rescuers and dogs saved ~ i pray to God if it ever comes to me and my 3 you put the bullet in my head first because i will defend my babies !

I am sickened by the cowardliness of these officers and so many others ! I pray, as an EMT I am never on one of these scenes, because I will wind up in jail !

That should never have happened. She was just running back to her house. Officers and SWAT teams are too quick to shoot before thinking.

Situation should have been assessed correctly. It is a small dog running away ? How is that seen as a threat and danger ? To easy to pull the trigger and think about it later ....
