What happened is extremely disturbing and unsettling! I am very disappointed that a petition has to demand certain actions that should be a common practice among law enforcement such as firing a weapon only when real danger exists. Shooting a dog that is running from you does not fall into that category!

SHOT 4 TIMES? the dog weighed 30lbs and was running in the other direction. ARE YOU FRIGGIN' KIDDIN ME? If they are so affraid of what will be there when they arrive, GET RID OF THEIR GUNS. That's what TAZZERS are for. You killed a family member that didn't attack or cause a problem. DISGUSTING/DISPICABLE - YOU SHOULD ALL BE ASHAMED.

We are tired of police officers getting off scott free when taking an innocent dogs life. If these officers scare so easily by a dog..how can we put them on the streets to protect humans? Let's get some training for police officers.

This is totally unacceptable. The dog wasn't attacking anyone, I don't understand why the police officer decided to shoot it other than just being cruel. The poor owner has enough to deal with, without losing a beloved pet. The dog was running away from the officers and not toward them. It takes a coward to shoot anything in the back.

We need to get big boy toys out of the hands of men with little boy minds that have a "shoot em up - bang - bang" mentality!!! From all I read about innocent animals being shot by police for no justifiable reason; it's obvious they need better screening, more comprehensive mental analysis, more training. My 9 yr old niece can handle a dog in any situation and knows the difference between aggression and fear! The policemen responsible & involved should be stripped of their badges, get mental evaluations & this video should be sent to their families, so they can see there is nothing to be proud of, rather they should all be shamed.
