What a horrendous display of inaction on the part of our justice system. As a young woman of African-Carribean descent, born and raised in Vancouver,BC, it is with mixed emotions that I sign this petition - anger, disappointment, sadness, and disbelief. This young man put himself in harms way to protect a stranger in the street from being attacked and as a society, we cannot - in the very least - provide his family with some solace in knowing that his life was not cut prematurely in vain. I implore local police enforcement and the justice system to give this case the due diligence that it deserves. “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere” - Martin Luther King Jr.
