East Cobber's, we can't just sit on our hands and continue to let Cobb County change our neighborhood into High density, traffic jammed, over populated suburbs. Our quiet enjoyment will cease to exist. This intersection is already a rush hour nightmare and without expanding Shallowford road, will only continue to be worse. Please speak out against this zoning request. We are asking everyone to sign this petition, write letters to their commissioners and to show up in opposition to the zoning meetings. Sept. 8th is the planning commission meeting and Sept. 2oth is the BOC zoning hearing, both at 9:00AM. The more people that show in opposition the better our chance of stopping yet another high density development.

"CalAtlantic Group Inc. is proposing a revised plan for 83-home subdivision in Cobb County which includes 52 single family homes and 31 Townhomes.

The project sits on 31 acres on the south side of Shallowford Road, west side of Johnson Ferry Road and east and west sides of Waterfront Circle.

The property frontage on Shallowford Road is comprised of 10 parcels that are zoned LRO (low-rise office, which are those houses turned into businesses) and R-20. The frontage along Johnson Ferry Road is comprised of four parcels that are zoned NRC and R-20. FLUM classifies this property as a Neighborhood Activity Center with low impact intensity. In other words, low density.

Homes would range from 2,800 to 4,000-plus square feet. Townhomes would sell for between $525,000 and $650,000, and single-family units would sell for $650,000 to $750,000, according to plans filed with Cobb County.
