Junction priority change

I strongly oppose this proposal as it will encourage drivers to speed on a road that already has a record of accidents, surely in this time of austerity our money could be spent elsewhere. Please listen to us local people, I have not heard one person who would support change.

workers already drive at excessive speed to and from this area. Angle and freshwater is filled with families and holiday makers. If you spend the money to change the junction, you will increase the risk of fatalities. And then likely hood of that fatality being a child will increase. Nobody will want that to happen for the sake of a quicker commute. Save the money.... and save lives.

Safety compromise with little gain to the local or working community.

For anyone who lives in Angle who has an already lengthy drive to work this would add on time that could not be calculated as the amount of traffic heading to Valero is consistent for miles. This would then effect jobs, childcare issues and family routine but mostly the safety of anyone having to take this journey. Any delays for people driving from Angle/Fresh west would build up on a road that is not suitable and not wide enough for 2 lanes therefore backing up in both directions in high season. How is this helping residents of the area or even workers at Valero?

I oppose this proposed change for it will mean people from Angle will have to wait forever to get past the junction. Also my parents suffered a terrible accident with a lorry failing to stop at the junction. It ought not to change.

Even if you were to change the junction it will still be a fatal corner which will cause a lot more accidents because the junction now allows people to slow down and reduce their speed before reaching the straight road

The traffic past our entrance to Wallaston Green is already dangerously fast at times. changing the right of way will only increase the speed of the traffic without the current junction being a need to slow down and stop. The proposed traffic priority will be increasing the possible danger to the residents of Wallaston Green as there will be no junction deterant forcing them to slow down and thus will probably encourage increased speed. The residents and visitors of Angle at peak times will have a VERY lengthy wait at the proposed junction.

This proposal is ludicrous, the drivers from Valero already drive at breakneck speeds and this alteration will give them priority with no need to slow down at all. As the road is at the moment at least they have to slow down a little on the approach to the junction. It will also cause tail backs - especially in the summertime - in both directions which will have a knock on effect as the Angle/Freshwater road is too narrow in places to pass. Lets face it the Valero traffic doesn't have to wait very long to get out of this junction and that serves its purpose in slowing them down during the getting home race. Unfortunately, if this proposal goes ahead I fear fatalities will become a regular occurrence on this road.

The change of priority will make it impossible at certain times.of the day to exit from Angle/Freshwater West direction. As the junction sits at the moment at.least it serves as a slight brake to the excessive speed the Valero guys drive at. It will also cause huge tailback in the season along the Angle/Freshwater West road, and prevent people for being able to head towards the peninsula due to traffic trying to leave totally blocking the road due to it being so narrow.

This change would put the wishes of big business over the needs and safety of the local residents.

I used to live at Wallaston Green and we could not get out into the traffic in a morning or teatime as a large proportion of them already drive like idiots and will not give way even when having to stop in the traffic up to the junction. This will just encourage them to drive even faster in the time I lived at Wallaston Green there were 2 cars on there roofs in the ditches on bends and numerous motorcyclists came off this will just make it worse and in a time when everywhere is continually telling us they are short of cash, what a complete and utter waste of cash that could be far better used elsewhere

Altering this junction will not help anyone. Waste of money

Going to make this new corner extremely dangerous. The refinery traffic is dangerous enough without adding another 90 degree bend to their race home.

they will all be able to drive even faster now..more accidents will happen..we will be waiting to get out for ages during going in and coming out times..crazy!!

There have been no fatalities on the road at all. With all the work that has gone on, new power station. Cracker plant at refinery etc. Altered road at Maiden Wells 2 fatalities. Leave road alone. Rest my case.

Whoever dreamt up this proposal needs to have a long, hard re-think! Maybe they are one of the minority who has to currently give way for a brief second to occasional traffic coming from Angle and is just impatient! An accident waiting to happen.

This is going to make leaving angle in the morning a nightmare! An very dangerous, some of the drivers already drive recklessly this will just make it worse!!

The junction as it is acts as a traffic calming measure, if it is altered the speed of the traffic travelling to Valero will only increase... it’s like a scene from wacky racers as it is at the beginning and end of the day!!
