We are petitioning to keep Julie Strickland from leaving the Durham Region. The Durham Childrens Aid Societys act to move her will affect many people, as well as Julie. We believe that moving Julie out of the Durham Region is a bad decision, and that it would destroy Julie. We are asking that you find a placement for Julie in Durham so she doesnt have to leave her LIFE behind. As to date, Julie has been located to Oakwood, and hour and 10 minutes from Oshawa. Your signitures can help bring her home. Julie is a well behaved kid. She doesn't do drugs, smoke, or drink. She gets along great with everyone. Her grades are EXCEPTIONALLY well considering all the trauma and moving in her life. She is not group home material, and it isn't fair that she is placed in a group home far away from her entire life. Julie will have to start a new school in September, which would be another downfall, another upset.
