A free press is intrinsic to a free society.

As a citizen of the globe I need to know that Julian Assange is safe. I respect the rights of all people, including the right to privacy, but in light of recent events I feel Mr. Assange would understand the concern. WikiLeaks, on Twitter, assured their followers that Mr. Assange would provide proof of well-being via video. this was released as proof of well-being:
