Students who originally studied in North Edison public schools should be able to continue their education. J.P. Stevens is ranked 41st of all 964 high schools in New Jersey. It is also ranked first in all of the high schools in Middlesex County. Due to such high rankings, many students who have been enrolled in Edison public schools before want to attend this school to get the education they desire. Students who studied in Edison before should be able to go to Edison schools on payment of tuition. In the Residency Requirement guide for New Jersey, for families that own properties in two districts, the district of the property with the higher property tax is considered the school district of the child. However, this is restricting the choices of the student as they have to attend one district over the other due to the amount of tax for one property. It isn't fair that those who aspire go to such a prestigious school have to be refused of going to J.P. Stevens because they do not reside in North Edison even though they originally attended North Edison public schools.
