Not one single other player at the collegiate level better embodies the qualities of a linebacker that the Butkus Award is based upon. To not include Jewell as a finalist is an absolute travesty given his qualifications, and not including this kid will greatly diminish the validity of this prestigious award. It's not a popularity contest for who the sexiest pick is from the best team, it's meant to go to the best linebacker in the nation. Josey Jewell is above and beyond the best linebacker in the nation, without a doubt.

Just because Iowa isn't having a stellar season the guy (Josey Jewell) with the best stats shouldn't be penalized by not being a finalist. It's a travesty.
