The fact that he isn’t even mentioned on the ballot is appalling. The committee should be ashamed. He’s a leader (clearly) on the field AND in the Iowa community. Do what’s right and include this deserving young man. Hard work. It’s in his blood.

A teams record and performance should, in no way, have an impact on an individual’s success on or off the field. Josey is inarguably the most valuable leader on a team who has 3 senior linebackers, all with years of starting experience, leaving no excuse for Josey’s stats to be magnified due to the lack of talent around him. He has earned this award because of his hard work and dedication, NOT because he was highly recruited for his natural talent and athleticism. Give credit where credit is due, regardless of if you’re an Iowa fan or not, Josey Jewel is the best linebacker among this group of talented and worthy individuals.
