Mr. Jewel has shown the complete altitude and perseverance to be mentioned in the Butkus Award destination. He has persevered through both physically and mentally tough times and has continuously come out on top. To have those attributes and to parlay that into a top statistical leader absolutely merits a Butkus award nomination ! Go Joseph Jewel!!

Extremely disappointing that Josey Jewell was left off the final ballot given his statistics and quality of play all season. Josey exemplifies the qualities that the Butkus Award was created to honor and celebrate. Please do the right thing and include him on the final ballot. He has led a great defensive unit that has been leaned on hard all year given the lack of offense for the Hawkeyes.
