I have recently watched the video on this incident. I feel that joseph Garcia shouldn't receive the death penalty. I feel that Miguel should be the only one who should pay the price for this crime since he is the one who shot and killed the police officer. Please do not execute joseph Garcia.

I am currently giving a presentation at school on how, if I were the governor of Texas, I'd immediately clear you of your capital murder charge and give you a reduced sentence to 25 years. I think you're innocent in regards to the murder of Aubrey Hawkins; and I think that, in regards to the murder of Miguel Luna, you were truly in a state of rage that night. I hope you are cleared of your capital murder charge or at least given a new, fair trial. You don't deserve to die, Miguel.

FYI, he was already in prison for killing someone else prior to his involvement with this incident, but I guess everyone who has a shitty life turns out to be a murderer so we will just disregard the first life he took. As the petition states, his childhood was shitty and he was abandoned, thus he is not required to be accountable for the taking of two lives. Do some research people, this shitbag is not an innocent bystander, caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. He is a murderer and a cop killer. Therefore, I think the state of Texas is doing a public service in putting down animals like him.

You people are all idiots. The man is obviously a shit bag if he's sitting on death row. I also call his intellect into question because he has been apprehended AND convicted, not once, but twice. I say fire up old sparky and shock him twice!! An eye for an eye. A life for a life.

This is a brilliant, intelligent, and gentle man serving time for someone else's actions. The debt has been paid by Rivas execution. holding another accountable for another's crimes serves no purpose, and goes against what we have been taught since childhood. There is absolute strength in numbers, and the more that stand up and counted, the better the odds that this will be resolved. You wouldn't want to be held accountable for another's misdeeds, so why should he? Please sign the petition and stand up for what is right by the law.

From the uk- after watching documentaries and reading up about his case (which I find restricted online) I believe the USA should be ashamed and embarrassed that Joseph Garcia is on death row! His original murder he was acting in self defence! Here in england you'd serve 15 years on a bad day which would be much less as acting in self defence. As far as the killing of the police officer, Joseph wasn't even at the scene of the shooting and wasn't even in possession of a fire arm. How can Joseph be put to death for something he didn't do! Makes me feel sick.
Just to add I do support the death penalty (in some cases) but I find this disgusting. God bless you joseph Garcia.
