The problem with this charge is that in TX, an Attempted Murder charge really holds no weight. And it's very very difficult to make an "attempted" charge stick these days. That's why if you shoot someone and they don't die, they charge you with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon; an Agg charge is much worse, and requires about 85% of your time to be done before you're eligible for parole, as opposed to about 25% of your time on a non-agg charge. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for strict punishment for child abuse, but I can already see the loopholes in this.
Anyone that's been on my wall knows my feelings on this... I'd go turn myself in for some unpaid tickets if I thought they would throw me in the same tank with that guy. I'd take an assault case if I could cave his face in.

EVERY child deserves love and safe home to live in and those that do not provide this and take care of a child in their custody should be punished by law! no bail should ever be allowed in child abuse cases
