We the undersigned are opposed to any type of future Cary annexation or control in Chatham County as set forth in the Joint Land Use Plan for the following reasons: • Relinquishes Chatham County Authority to self-government • The mixed-use area will result in added pollution to Jordan Lake • The quality of life as we currently know it, will be disturbed • Higher traffic flows on Highway 751 • Create higher taxes for all Chatham County residents in order to pay for schools for Cary children • Potentially higher crime with higher density • Create greater demand on drinking water resources from Jordan Lake. For these reasons we urge the Chatham County Board of Commissioners not adopt the Joint Land Use Plan. We also request the Chatham BOC to govern the county as voiced by the majority of public input
