Nigeria was a great nation both politically and economically when we practised confederation at the regional level. Today, federalism as a system has failed and the country is faced with many economic, political and social crises due to the imbalances created by federalism despite the so-called federal character principle.

We are The Center For Confederation, Democracy And Good Governance in Africa. We believe that the solution to Nigeria's problems is to confederate the 36 states of the federation and devolve power at the center. Due to the past experiences, confederating the regions again will not be an option. But we can confederate the 36 states to reduce the tensions, feelings of marginalization and address the many crisis and problems the country is facing.
