Ubernomics is the economic truth about the car service app Uber, and here's the bad news: It hasn't benefited our economy. It has updated 20th century capitalism's flaws of misclassifying workers and dipping into their wages. Four ways they do this are

1. Contributing to the loss of driver's full-time work
2. Normalizing lower fares
3. Increasing trends of non-tipping
4. Misclassifying employees as independent contractors

Communities are negatively impacted by Uber's business model. The company steals tax revenue from the state and shifts a hefty financial burdenonto the worker. It floods the streets and highways of NYC with traffic, but avoids paying its share to maintain city infrastructure. It also includes unethical payment practices. By taking excessive commissions and miscalculating sales taxes, Uber steals wages from workers.

To fix this, our legislators must ensure that Uber is upholding contractual obligations, andjustly compensating workers.
