The Celery Fields is an incredible asset to Sarasota County and must be protected and nurtured. The two lanes roads around the Celery Fields simply CANNOT accommodate any more traffic, especially large, slow-moving trucks. Allowing industrial development around the Celery Fields will greatly decrease the value of homes in the surrounding communities.

As a long time resident of Sarasota and specifically the Palmer area, this sight of natural beauty should endure.

If you truly care about the residents of SRQ then you know what is the right thing to do. Deny recycling plant. We lost revenue at our beaches with the red tide. Tourists then head inland. Yes to the Celery Fields. Please find it in your heart to do what’s right. You are in control of your legacy with your children and grandchildren. Make them proud. Protect their community.

Public lands should be used for public benefit. Recreational use is far preferable to industrial for these parcels—done right, it can create positive externalities through placemaking, helping to stitch the Celery Fields and Packinghouse/Palmer area together into a regional destination.

Nearly a year after the people made it clear that industry is no longer an option near the Celery Fields, we have no guarantee that the Board will not sell our public lands to an industrial developer. Time to clean house.

protect our environment. YMCA or similar idea's are what is needed, not industrial.
