Public Vision for our Public Lands at the Celery Fields

I will be voting for the environment in every election. Existing County officials are allowing unchecked Development and mass destruction of wildlife habitat. Vote out current officials! .

City doing the same with Bobby Jones, stop taking away from those that enjoy the facilities there and the 45 courses at B.J.G.C.

Take a walk and see what a beautiful area it is. It is much used and loved by many residents

Protect this important nature area!!

Celery Fields and the surrounding area provides precious habitat to birds and wildlife. Do not sell adjacent lands to private developers who will ruin this beautiful, natural area. It should be preserved for future generations to enjoy. I urge you not to be short sighted.

Please....can’t we leave one beautiful area for future generations? As it is, we’ll be leaving them a concrete jungle, and not one blade of grass. Shameful at best!

Development would ruin what is a valuable county resource.

Every time I visit Sarasota (several times a year) I just can't resist the Celery Fields. This is a valuable public resource and tourism draw for the community.

Keep nature alive. It is an atrocity to add more development in a natural environment.

Please keep Celery Fields wild and natural open space.

Sarasota County Commission must recognize and protect the beauty of this "accidental" gem.

I am in support the plan put forth hold the land in a community trusty and create a diversity rich food forest with education facilities.

I drive by the fields everyday going to work. All the development going on has made Fruitville so busy and dangerous for wildlife in the area. I witnessed a Sandhill crane trying to cross the road with a baby crane get hit by a heartless person driving a work truck who didn't slow down to avoid hitting it or even stop after killing the parent. The over development of our natural areas is out of control and needs to be addressed, do we really need more shopping centers. I think not.

Rural land in Sarasota County has become "an endnagered species." All is being devoured by urban development!

Save nature from being developed

I enjoy birding there as well as mountain biking with my son up and down “mount celery”. More of that please. Keep the building in downtown core and repurpose already developed land instead of clearing natural areas.

This is such a precious area to us all. A large part of our population use this area to run, bike, walk, bird watch, or just sit on the benches at the top and lose themselves in thought and the beauty surrounding them. Don't fill it with buildings.

Development planning should be strategic. Obviously we will continue to develop land in Sarasota County, but this wonderful area should be protected both for wildlife and for the humans who enjoy them. Please reconsider allowing development of this land.

This location is a treasure. Please preserve it by keeping the adjacent public lands . Do NOT sell them and allow development! Enough is enough.
