Mr. Gerhardt was my volleyball coach and English teacher. He is still someone I think of as one of my greatest role models, for many reasons. This would be one well-deserved honor. I'm proud to sign this petition.

It would be a most fitting honor to name the Trojan baseball field for him. It would be a much deserved recognition of his building of the Trojan baseball tradition.

John was one of my best friends at Gilman School, the high school we attended and graduated from in Baltimore. John was Captain of our baseball team and always loved baseball and of course the Baltimore Orioles. I cannot think of anyone more deserving an honor like this. I know John loved his school in Traverse City as he talked about it often and am so glad he is being honored in this way.
