John Smith was one in a million among the actors of his generation and those that followed. He acted in all genres of films and episodic tv, and concentrated on westerns. He gave himself generously through roles and gave a perfect example of the Western character to our generations and the ones that will follow. His many fans, like myself, believe John's acting work speaks for itself showing off his talent for understated, soft-spoken and never over-reaching. We also believe there are few, if any other western actors who have earned recognition as one of 'the breed' - three generations of western actors who will never be forgotten, and will never lack for new generations of western fans to appreciate his work
