A lovely man, who touched so many lives within the community. I personally knew Joe, he to me was like extended family through our connections. He fought for so many years to have what he rightly deserved and to not get the chance to enjoy the very thing he held out for. I believe it would be a kind gesture to name the street on which his new house sits as Joe Baxter Way. Not only honer Mr Baxter but to also mark the dedication and determination he showed. Forever in our hearts

This man stood his ground for a decent offer due to substandard building material in a house he bought from West Lothian council who then wanted to buy it back at next to nothing, not enough for them to buy anything else. Finally given a decent house and Joe won’t see it as he passed away before keys given. It would be a fitting tribute to name the street Baxter’s Way or Joe Baxter’s Way.
