Recent Federal Government Cutbacks vs. Air Travel Security

As Screening Officers, it is our professional responsibility to inform the air-traveling public of the consequences arising from the recent--and future--government cutbacks to our screening jobs and hours.

By decreasing the strength of our security workforce, the risks increase to the safety of air travel. Without sufficient hours and Sreening Officers, the workload--and resulting fatigue--will increase for the remaining Screening Officers. This diminished alertness will decrease the safety of our skies.

We--the screening officers--are taking a firm and conscientious stand for our work conditions. We ask you, the traveling public, to urge the government to restore its financial support for air-travel security. By signing this petition, you are reminding the government that air-travel safety is important.
