With unemployment in America at almost 9%,it is unacceptable to wait 20 to 30 minutes for someone to answer a customer service call and when it is finally answered, you find yourself speaking to someone in India who cannot understand any English other than what is written on his script. Congress should mandate a $.25 cent surcharge on all international calls. This tariff would put the Asian call centers out of business while not affecting the average caller that much. American corporations would then be forced to bring these jobs back home and U.S. customers would come closer to getting the service they deserve.
