With Marvel and Sony coming together to bring a new Spiderman franchise to the big screen inside the MCU (marvel cinematic universe) comes a fresh new face to play the Web slinger. Now before everyone flips out about how there rebooting spidy again just here me out. With roomers of actors like Dylan O'Brien (teen wolf/Maze runner), logan lermen (Percy Jackson/fury), Anton yelchin (terminator salvation/odd Tomas), and Freddie highmore (the art of getting by/bates motel), ect. Up to play a younger Spiderman in the marvel/Sony reboot, while all great choices. I think marvel and Sony should go in the opposite direction and make spiderman older and out of high school or maybe even out of college. Have Peter parker already be spiderman in the beginning of the film and maybe do a brief call back to the accident that made him spiderman (such as a minute or two long dream sequence) and skip the origin story. Also skip the love story we've seen it play out in every spiderman movie so far, instead make him be a young 22-25 year old kid with money troubles because he has to play off his student loans and is helping aunt may with her bills on top of being spiderman! This is were I think Jim Chapman would fit in great as spiderman but if you need more convincing I have a few more reasons why Jim Chapman should be the next spiderman
1.HE'S A FAN OF THE CHARACTER
For those of you who watch Jims youtube videos you'll already know Jim is a die hard spiderman fan. Much like the most recent spiderman Andrew garfield, why is this a good thing you ask? Because if the actor is a huge fan of the character then the rest of the spiderman fans will see him (or her) as tangible and relatable much like the character of spiderman/Peter parker. Though we don't know why Jim loves spiderman so much I'm sure he has a very deep and personal story (much like andrews) that will resignate with fans all over the world and thus making them more excited about the film. But let's be realistic not everyone can just jump infront of a camera and read some lines, which is what my next point is about.
2.HES NOT CAMERA SHY
Though we don't know the extent of Jims acting ability, Jim is no stranger to being in front of a camera with millions of people watching him. Plus hes charming,entertaining,funny, and has the charisma an actor would need to pull off spiderman. but lets not forget 2,000,000+ fans is alot of people, Which leads to my next point.
3.HE HAS A HUGE FAN BASE
With 2,054,295 subscribers on YouTube, it's safe to say marvel would make a lot of money off a spiderman film staring Jim Chapman (about $12-14 million just off of Jims fans alone) add all the spiderman fans and people who just wanted to see the movie because marvel has there logo on it and marvel/Sony are looking pretty good. Now I know what your thinking "pssh I don't want a youtuber to play spiderman even if he is famous..he's never acted in anything, has no acting schooling, nothing so what makes you think he could really pull it off" well I I think he'd do a great job which leads me to my final point.
4. YOUTUBERS CAN ACT
Though youtube celebrity's often get looked down upon by Hollywood there are a lot you very talented youtubers out there. Take Caspar Lee for example, though he's only had a supporting role in spud 3 (an indie film he did awhile back) he did a pretty good job despite his only expirence before spud 3 was being a youtuber. Also his Costar troy sivan did amazing as the lead in all 3 of the spud movie and is now a pretty famous youtuber himself. So guys please give Jim a chance. "But wait isn't he British? Spiderman is American" I'm sure marvel would spare no expense to get him the best acting coach around to help him sound like an American.
