My children go to school that deals with this every year. There has to be a better allocation system. Somewhere in the country they have to have it right. Please look into other options WCSD.

What is the lesson we are passing on to our young ones, that they shouldn’t form a relationship with others because that will be ripped away from them. This is an impressionable age and they quickly form a loving relationship with their teachers. When will we start doing the right things for the children of our future.

I'm a 2nd grade teacher from Auburn, Washington. Please consider this is for the children she has touched so deeply. Also remember the first experience for a 1st grader shapes how they look at school for their entire life.

This is ridiculous. Most teachers have 30+ students in the classroom. And now you're charging all the volunteers $75 to get fingerprints.

displacing 28 students because of two non-students is ludicrous. i don't have a kid at all. but i do know when i see foolishness. yes, there's guidelines. there's also logic. when we becomes slaves to the letter of the guidelines while ignoring the spirit in which these guidelines exist - which ought to be providing the best education to our children! - we lose the right to call ourselves leaders. Lead. If you really think 28 students is too few for a teacher, how exactly is it OK to steal a 3rd grade teacher and move all their students around? Is that teacher also "unnecessary"? I seriously doubt all the kids you've dispersed throughout the rest of the 3rd grade classes would agree. Are those classes now over-filled? All so you could get rid of a teacher over TWO children? It sure seems like we've got a whole lot of time, money, disruption and general lack of leadership going into these decisions.

I would hope that the superintendent sees the impact this decision is having on Beck first grade families and finds a way to reverse the decision.

Miss Oliphant is an amazing teacher. My class is Reading Buddies with her class and her students will be forever affected by this decision!! Being short by only 2 students on count day is rediculous..
