We, your constituents, are writing about an issue of fairness and equality for all families in Illinois.
It is unfair and unjust to deny families and couples the legal protections and dignities they deserve based on sexual orientation, and I strongly support the Illinois Religious Freedom and Marriage Fairness Act. Marriage strengthens relationships, fosters stability and makes families stronger.
Like all Illinoisans, gay and lesbian couples have the same values of love, commitment and the desire to build a strong family.

I am honestly a bit overwhelmed seeing how many people want this as badly as I do because it truly feels like the tide is finally turning in our favor. Watching this grow has been so wild like I never imagined it would travel this far but here we are and I just feel so energized to push this right to the finish line.

Its time to stop treating people like second class citizens. Love is love and it should be legal for everyone in this state.

My son is gay and he deserves to have the same rights as everyone else when he decides to settle down. Do the right thing.
