Mother of 2 at Mitchell Elementary and am very concerned about the new developments and overcrowding of schools. Also very concerned that there has been no talk about new schools being built. I am in complete support of this Petition.

Our Jeffco Board must be in a partnership with the community including parents and teachers.

Right wing take overs of school boards is a grave concern nationwide. It is the conservative tactic of choice to gain control over the youth of the country to promote their hidden agendas via lies and propaganda. Such tactics were employed to devastating effect by the Nazi Party, transforming Germany into a brainwashed society. Likewise, American conservatives are attempting to promote their twisted values, such as denying climate change and forcing communities to teach Creationism, instead of teaching science and free thought. They ignore the facts of science and the lessons of history in favor of mysticism. Much like the Nazis, they don’t care about the values of the majority. Their only goal is to force their will on others by whatever means necessary. Their banning of great works of literature in schools parallels Nazi practices of the 1930’s. What occurred within the Jefferson County school system last year should be a clear warning of their real intentions. We need to send a clear message to them that they cannot take over our schools and force their twisted ideals on our youth and community.

School Boards should be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

I support out students and teachers. The Board does not value the opinions and needs of the district.

It has been quite obvious from the beginning of Mr. Witt's involvement on the school board that an ideological agenda is being pursued at the expense of the wishes of many, if not most, of Jeffco's families. The one positive it has served is to provide me an opportunity to teach my kids how quickly politics and ideological narrow-mindedness can create a destructive atmosphere.

This board majority is the result of voter apathy. NO MAJORITY of reasonably informed voting populace would have voted for these people. While their policy regarding a propaganda-style curriculum like North Korea does, funding, and really everything I've read so far are in no way good for the education and critical thinking of our children, we as a voting populace are to blame. Once we oust this group of self-righteous, self-serving, ignorant, fools, we are on the hook to keep from repeat the same mistake.

The behavior of the board majority is an outrage and an embarrassment to the JeffCo community. We can't vote you out soon enough.

Teachers and public schools serve the greater good in a free nation. I support the teachers - especially the valuable experienced veteran staff.

I also dislike not giving a hard copy of students final grade report. If the portal is hacked before the time the grades are downloaded by the parents it may prove difficult to ever get the report. It shifts responsibility from the school to provide report to the parents to obtain results.
