It is time for JEA to reduce its emissions, improve air quality throughout the region, and find a sustainable long-term plan to reduce energy costs.

As a ratepayer, I ask the JEA Board of Directors and staff leadership to take the following actions to lower utility bills, reduce harmful emissions, and protect human health.

  1. Incentivize and invest heavily in energy efficiency programs, especially for low-income households.
  2. Prioritize cost-effective clean energy sources like solar over more expensive, polluting fossil fuel alternatives and stop using coal.
  3. Develop plans to eventually phase out the use of fossil fuels.

By focusing on clean energy and efficiency, JEA could:

  • Save millions of dollars and lower bills.
  • Protect us from volatile fuel prices.
  • Stop producing dangerous pollution that harms our health and warms our planet.

Other utilities, states, and countries are proving that renewable energy sources, like solar, are cost-effective and reliable.

It is time for JEA to follow their lead to protect our health and keep money in our pockets so we can afford basic needs necessary for our quality life.

Why would the JEA or any urility commit to building more fossil fuel infrastructure when solar with battery backup generation is cheaper to build and the fuel that runs it is free!

The "Sunshine State" should be leading the US in solar energy. Even Texas has embraced solar and renewables, so why is Florida so behind? Please plan for the future and protect our community's finances, health and environment by investing in solar and other renewable energy sources.

There has got to be some kind of resource to help especially us seniors because if we get $26 raise is SS, someone has already added that in and it’s does not appear to be a plus because I never get to enjoy any aspects of the raises we get because it’s gone before we get it. Please help us with some relief of the high costs. Thanking you in advance.

We are being charged 170 million a year right now and will go up next year from nuclear plant in Georgia! Let create our own solar energy, it’s time for JEA to start thinking about the people of Jacksonville!

It is critical for us to adapt cleaner energies not only so we can lower our utilities, but so that this precious place we call home is livable for future generations and all life!

Why on earth is JEA opting to use yet another nonrenewable fuel source for electrical generation? This is a completely illogical and irresponsible direction to take given what the proven science is telling us. We already have solar capabilities in place and battery storage has dropped over 90%. Who at JEA is making these ill informed choices? It is very discouraging.

Prices are unaffordable and keep going up. A house or two adults who keep the air at 75 and it’s $300 is insane. I don’t know how seniors survive.
