Hi everyone! My name is Jasmyn Pearson. I am excited to announce that I am running for 2L Class Vice President! I appreciate you all for electing me as your 1L Class Vice President, and I hope you will trust me again to serve as your 2L Class Vice President. Serving as your 1L class Vice President has allowed me to get to know our class, understand our likes and dislikes, and most importantly see firsthand our hopes.

This year, the 1L board dealt with unprecedented challenges including the CLSSC course and the change in grading. To assist our class in handling these situations, I met with university leadership to gain an understanding on how I could assist the class. I served as a listening ear to students requesting updates on class information and explaining their experiences with the CLSCC. I have remained open, honest, empathetic, and accessible to our entire class and I will continue to do so.

I took a role in the Halloween fundraiser buying supplies and setting up the atrium. I also took a role in obtaining class merch by contacting and staying in communication with the seller. I also helped to plan the class ice skating event after finals, and I was also on the planning committee for the Barristers Ball.

While I came into my current position with lofty goals, I realized that there were bigger issues that affected our class that needed my immediate attention. I had to remain accountable and adaptable, which are ideal qualities of a leader. Hopefully this year we can strengthen our class community with more events that allow us to bond and become a better class.
