I just spent the morning down by the river watching people rush back from their row to beat the clock and it really makes me wonder if the council even watches these streets before they send the parking inspectors out. It feels like such an unnecessary headache for everyone trying to get a healthy start to their day especially when the lots are just sitting there mostly empty anyway.

I really did not think this would gain this much steam so fast because honestly I was worried people would think it sounds trivial even though getting a ticket at sunrise is such a massive headache. Watching the total climb while I was grabbing coffee this morning just floored me and it makes me feel like maybe the council will actually listen if we keep this pressure up.

As there are few options to park when using facilities leased to the rowers by the BBC it doesn't seem like much of an ask. Rowers are generally finished by 7.30
We often don't get back off the river until after 7a.m. - parking meters from 7a.m. - well outside business hours is ridiculous.
Moving the metered parking earlier would be effectively punishing existing Masters Rowers for their healthy exercise habit and would certainly disincentivise others from beginning theirs. It would be a serious blow to the physical and mental well being of many, for no community benefit.
Being an early morning rower I support a meter that starts later than 7am which would support BCC promoting healthier happier Qld and use of the river and recreational facilities.
Been booked at 11 min past 7 and had no intention of staying there any longer than that. It’s straight case of revenue raising.
