Briggs' behaviour toward a female colleague at the time of the offence and subsequent to it was totally unacceptable from any person, let alone an elected representative of parliament. There is no alternative but for him to either resign or be sacked. The position he holds is untenable in a modern society, based on his behaviour.

Unacceptable behaviour. This would not be seen as acceptable for the public, in the workplace, and parliament should be no different. In fact Parliamentarians should be setting an example.

Extreme right-wing misogynists like Briggs and Dutton should not be allowed to sit in parliament

This kind of behaviour is not in agreement with how we expect men to treat women at any time, least of all as a representative of the GOVT of Australia!

This is shameful conduct most unworthy of an elected representative of the people.

This is workplace bullying. His foul-mouthed mate Peter Dutton should join him

Resignation is the least of the punishments that this man should get.

In normal jobs one would be sacked for less, he must go . Not fit to vote on Oz issues.

I live in the electorate misrepresented by Jamie Briggs. He has shown scant interest in the opinions or the affairs of the residents since his anointment by Alexander Downer. he has shamed us by his 'laddish' behaviour, and his juvenile approach to his position. He should step down and be forced to watch all episodes of Downton Abbey to learn what standards of behaviour are acceptable in public life, even in Australia in this century. I was brought up as a Liberal but Jamie will never get my vote. (Comment not to be published under my name).
