Caught in the hype of backpacking and visiting Australia's stunning scenery, I too have embarked on the same trip as Jade. My trip was 8 years ago, everyone is following the same routes and doing the same tours. I completely agree these trips/excursions should be monitored and regulated closely. One life should never have ended so tragically, this mustn't happen again.

My husband, Peter & I are totally in support of this Petition! We did not know Jade, & have only been in contact with Chris & Mel since hearing of this tragedy. We live only 2 hours from Fraser Island, where the accident occurred. With our own family we have spent many holidays there. Over the years, we have also witnessed & heard of many other accidents on the Island, many of them fatal, & most of them involving in-experienced tourists, usually young! Our own son lost his life in a tragic accident whilst on a tour in Cambodia; we can do nothing about that incident, but by supporting "Jades Law", we feel that it brings light to the problem of our youth putting their lives in the hands of tour operators without stricter supervision!! We wish that this Petition for "Jades Law" gathers momentum around the World! WE ASK ALL TO SIGN & SHARE!!! Noelene & Peter Shadforth. Queensland, Australia!

I hope this law gets passed. I have been to Fraser Island too and even our guides had trouble negotiating some areas and they were qualified and experienced drivers. Good luck with the fight.
